AND ORTHOPEDICS DEVICES

A prescription from a specialist (orthopedist, geriatrician, physiatrist, neurologist, rheumatologist or neurosurgeon) is required to obtain a technical device. The specialist must also be recognized by the paying authority..
The Service régional d'aides techniques of the Centre régional de réadaptation La Ressourse serves everyone registered with one of the following programs:
- The Régie de l'assurance-maladie du Québec (RAMQ)
- The Commission de la santé et de la sécurité du travail (CSST)
- The Société de l'assurance automobile du Québec (SAAQ)
- The Veterans Affairs
- Personal insurance plans
- Other paying agencies
- The customer himself
It usually takes a few days to a few weeks to obtain a device. It all depends on the type of aid required and your specific needs.
- The following steps are usually involved in the process:
- Specialist issues a prescription, needs are identified
- Assessment of needs and recommendations
- Measurements are taken and the device is made
- Fitting and adjustments
- Delivery
- Follow-up and service and maintenance.
CLINIS AND SERVICES
CLINICS
- Assessment and delivery clinic for manual and powered wheelchairs
- Specialized medical evaluation clinic to obtain wheelchairs or orthopedic device (must be referred by a physician)
- Adult and child posture clinics
- Mobile posture clinics
- Regional clinics, on request: Pontiac, Maniwaki, Buckingham, St-André-Avellin.
OTHERS SERVICES
- Wheelchair repair service
- Special technical devices (standing frame, orthotics, prosthetics, adjustments)
- Foot orthotics, orthopedic shoes
- Sale of various orthopedic devices
- Sale and rental od facilitation devices for certain physical disabilities
- Sale of accessories: crutches, canes, walkers.
These services are offered to all population presenting different diagnosis.
These technical devices may or may not be covered by the Régie de l'assurance-maladie du Québec.
The Service régional d'aides techniques is a self-financing service.
